The department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science seeks to create an exciting, diverse, collaborative and supportive environment that advances in the science and engineering of materials by developing fundamental understanding, adopting frontier technologies, providing education and enabling technological innovations.

Disseminating understanding about the role that materials play for human kind.
The Department is currently offering Bachelors degree programme. The department of MME has laid strong emphasis in helping students acquire practical knowledge. It has played a key role in motivating and assisting students to freely explore the resources and carry out their academic activities. The members of staff have been actively engaged in research and have undertaken research/consultancy projects. These research activities span over wide ranging fields of Welding Metallurgy, Powder Metallurgy, Surface Coatings, Friction based surface modification techniques (FSP, FSW & Friction surfacing), High Temperature Material Applications, Corrosion Metallurgy, Surface Coatings, Biomaterials & Energy Materials and Computational Materials Engineering.
