Research Profile
  • Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific research (JNCASR), Bangalore, Post doctoral Fellow (5/1/2005 - 30/06/2005). Principal Investigator: Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma Experiments are being carried out to investigate the structural and functional aspects of biological clocks in fruit flies, ants and mice. Experiments are also being carried out to investigate the interaction of various time cues and the biological clocks. Behavioural and molecular experiments are conducted to understand the ontogeny of circadian rhythms in fruit flies and mice.
  • Biotechnology Research Center (BIOTRIM), State Government Forest Research Center, Tirupati. Senior Research Assistant (01/03/2003 - 20/12/2005).
  • Department of Biochemistry, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, Research Associate (14/12/2001 - 28/02/2003). Principal Investigator: Prof. K.Thyagaraju Isolation and Purification of GSTs of rat brain, liver and testis and its characterization. Induced expression of GSTs in brain and testis tissues by treatment with different doses of carcinogens such as Phenobarbital and Methylcholanthrene were studied. Studies were done by the enzymatic analysis using different substrates and also by western blot analysis. In brain and testis the induction of Yb and Y? subunits of µ class and Y? subunit of ? class proteins were observed. Induction of µ and ? class subunits may play a role in detoxification process.
  • Biotechnology Research Center (BIOTRIM), State Government Forest Research Center, Tirupati, Research Assistant (1/9/1996 - 1/2/1998).
  • Department of Biochemistry, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, Junior Research fellow (1/9/1995 - 31/8/1996). Principal Investigator: Prof. K. Thyagaraju Isolation and Purification of GSTs of rat brain, liver and testis and its characterization. Impact of carcinogens on rat testicular Glutathione transferases.
  • SRI PADMAVATHI MAHILA VISVAVIDYALAYAM, TIRUPATI, INDIA (FEB 1998 - DEC 2001) PH.D. Research Supervisor: Prof. D. Bharathi (Specialization in Physiology and Biochemistry) Dissertation Title: "Effect of thyroxin on growth and metabolism in silkworm Bombyx mori L." The major objective of the present work is to elucidate the mechanism of silkworm physiology and metabolism which can be explained for the improvement of the silkworm performance under the influence of vertebrate hormone, thyroxin. Both treated and controls were taken for analysis due to their physiological significance.
